GPU rental FAQ: accounts, crypto, hardware, terms.
GPU Rent Hub rents dedicated bare-metal GPUs by the week or by the month from DFW-1 in Dallas, IAD-1 in Ashburn and PDX-1 in Hillsboro, paid in Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDT, USDC, Monero, Solana or Litecoin, with an account that is a username and a password. Below are the questions people actually ask, grouped. If yours isn't here, a ticket from the dashboard gets a human answer within a few hours, around the clock.
Account & privacy
What do I need to open a GPU rental account?
A username and a password. Nothing else is asked, and nothing else is stored. Optional recovery email, PGP key and TOTP can be added in settings.
Is no-KYC GPU hosting a loophole or a policy?
A policy, written down in the privacy page and unchanged since 2021. We are a hardware landlord. We don't need to know who you are to rent you a machine, and we'd rather not hold data we can lose. The mechanics are set out under no-KYC GPU hosting.
What can a GPU host see on my instance?
Power draw, GPU temperature, fan speed, per-port bandwidth counters, and whether the host answers a ping. There is no agent in your OS, no console logging, no disk access. Your NVMe is encrypted with a key we can't extract from the TPM without your instance running.
Does GPU Rent Hub log IP addresses?
Dashboard and API logins keep the source IP for 7 days for abuse defence (brute-force lockout), then it's gone. Instance traffic is not logged. Over Tor, the "source IP" we'd see is an exit node anyway.
What happens if law enforcement asks about my account?
We respond only to valid US legal process and produce only what we hold: username, balance history, instance metadata (GPU type, region, start/stop times, IPs assigned). We hold no content and no identity, so that's the end of the list. Requests are counted in the yearly transparency report.
Can I delete my GPU rental account?
Yes, from settings. Instances are released, balance is withdrawn to an address you give, and the record is deleted within 30 days. Invoices you downloaded are yours; we don't keep copies beyond the ledger entry.
Payments & crypto
Which cryptocurrencies can I pay for GPU rental with?
Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDT (TRC-20 and ERC-20), USDC (ERC-20), Monero, Solana and Litecoin. No fiat, no cards, no wires, no gift cards, no PayPal. That list hasn't changed since 2023 and we don't plan to add coins that aren't liquid. How is the crypto exchange rate set at checkout?
Median of three large exchanges at the moment of your deposit's first network confirmation. Stablecoins are 1:1. There is no deposit fee, no spread, no "processing" cut.
Why do prices say USD if I pay in crypto?
Because a GPU costs us the same in dollars whether Bitcoin is up or down this week. Your balance is a USD ledger; deposits convert in, withdrawals convert out, everything in between is stable.
Is there a minimum crypto deposit?
$20 equivalent. Below that, network fees eat too much of it to be worth your while.
Can I withdraw an unused crypto balance?
Yes, at any time, in the coin you deposited, to an address you specify, minus the network fee. Processed within 24 hours; withdrawals above $50,000 equivalent are paid in tranches over 72 hours.
What if I send crypto to an old address or the wrong network?
Deposit addresses stay valid forever, so an old address is fine. Wrong network (e.g. USDT on BSC) is not recoverable by us; open a ticket and we'll tell you honestly whether anything can be done. Usually it can't.
Do you offer refunds on a GPU rental?
Unused balance: always withdrawable. Paid term on a running instance: not refunded, but you can stop the instance and the term simply runs out. Outages: credited automatically in days of service (see the status page for the amounts we've credited historically).
Hardware & network
Is the GPU really dedicated bare metal?
Yes. One tenant per physical server. No virtualisation layer on the GPU, no vGPU, no time-slicing, no shared PCIe. You get the host's full CPU cores, RAM and NVMe as listed.
Can I run my own OS on a rented GPU server?
Yes. Boot any qcow2/raw image from a URL, or netboot your own installer through the console. Templates are conveniences, not requirements.
What does "100G port, 10G guaranteed" mean?
Single-GPU instances share a 100 Gbps top-of-rack port with the other servers in the rack, and we guarantee 10 Gbps to each. In practice you'll see much more most of the time. 8-way nodes get a dedicated 2 × 100G pair. Dedicated 25G/100G ports are an add-on for single-GPU instances.
Do you provide a firewall or DDoS protection?
Inbound volumetric attacks are scrubbed at the edge automatically. Beyond that, the firewall is yours: every template ships nftables with a permissive ruleset. Outbound port 25 is closed by default.
What happens if the GPU hardware fails?
We swap the failed part from spares held on site, usually within four hours. If the NVMe is what failed, we can't recover the data (it's encrypted and we don't have backups of your disk) — take snapshots for anything you can't lose. Downtime is credited.
Can I get InfiniBand between nodes?
On quoted clusters of 16+ GPUs, yes (HDR/NDR). Standard 8-way nodes talk to each other over 100G Ethernet with RoCE enabled.
Terms & renewals
How does monthly renewal work?
Twenty-four hours before the term ends, the renewal price is drawn from your balance and the term extends. If the balance is short, the instance runs to the end of the term, then stops. You have 72 hours of grace to top up and restart in place; after 7 days the NVMe is wiped.
Can I stop an instance and pause billing?
You can stop it any time, but the term is prepaid and doesn't pause — the hardware is reserved for you. If you need bursty usage, weekly terms are the answer. The arithmetic for both is worked through in monthly versus hourly GPU rental.
Can I change from weekly to monthly without losing data?
Yes. The switch happens at the end of the current term on the same machine.
Is the GPU price locked during my term?
Yes. A running term keeps its price until it ends. If the catalogue price drops, your next renewal uses the lower price; if it rises, you're told 7 days before it applies to a renewal.
What is the longest GPU rental term?
6 months prepaid from the dashboard (−10%). 12 months is quoted per case, usually −15%.
Buying hardware
Are fleet-retired cards worn out?
They've run 24 months in a controlled datacenter at rated power, which is gentler than most desktop lives. Every card ships with its thermal and memory burn-in report and our own 6-month warranty.
Where can you ship a GPU I buy?
Anywhere a freight carrier delivers, except destinations under US export restriction for the part in question. We check this at quote time, before you pay.
If I colocate a GPU, whose hardware is it?
Yours. We hold it as a bailee. You can have it shipped to you at any time, or sell it back to us at the posted rate. Tiers start at $95 per GPU per month; the detail is on the GPU colocation page.

Do you have an uptime SLA?
99.9% monthly availability per instance, credited automatically in days: 1 day per hour of downtime beyond the allowance, up to the full term. Historical credits are listed on the status page with each incident.
